Time and again, this crab alfredo has been a regular main course or a smaller portion as a side dish to a seafood plate that is just too good to pass up.

Aside from the crabmeat that you’ll likely need to plan ahead for, the remaining ingredients are relatively common and you may have most of them on hand.

  • Linguini — Cook dry linguini according to package directions.
  • Crab Meat — Fresh lump crabmeat, or crabmeat removed from cooked crab legs (careful to remove all of the shell and cartilage) is excellent in this recipe. In a pinch, you can use canned crabmeat chunks, although it is recommended to purchase the best quality canned crab because brands can vary substantially.
  • Butter — salted or unsalted butter, but adjust salt to taste accordingly with what you use.
  • Flour — all purpose flour helps to thicken the cream sauce.
  • Milk (Or Cream) — we love to use whole milk (3.2%) to keep it lighter than cream, although you can use half and half, heavy or whipping cream if you prefer.
  • Cream Cheese — a little cream cheese adds a nice creaminess to the sauce that is reminiscent of the restaurant.
  • Parmesan Cheese — add a bit of parmesan cheese for that classic alfredo sauce flavor.
  • Garlic — You can use two fresh cloves of garlic or adjust more or less garlic for your taste. We prefer fresh garlic but you can use a half teaspoon or so of garlic powder in this.
  • Italian Seasoning — optional, but provides extra flavor to the dish.
  • Salt — we love Himalayan pink salt, regular salt is of course fine too.
  • Pepper — freshly ground black pepper

How To Make Red Lobster Crab Alfredo Recipe

STEP 1 — Cook Linguini to Package Instructions

Follow the package instructions to cook your linguine.

Meanwhile the linguini is boiling on the stove top, you can make the crab alfredo sauce.

STEP 2 — Make the Alfredo Sauce

On the stovetop, in a small or medium saucepan melt the butter on low to medium heat.

When the butter is melted, add the flour and whisk until smooth, ensure that there are no clumps.

Next, add the milk and raise the temperature to medium high and bring to a boil.

Once the milk boils, it will thicken. Reduce the heat to low and be sure to not burn the milk.

Add the fresh garlic (or garlic powder), Italian seasoning if using, salt and pepper and mix.

Add the parmesan cheese and cream cheese and whisk until the sauce has a smooth consistency.

STEP 3 — Add Crabmeat

You can add a portion (roughly half, or more if you like) of the crab to the sauce, and reserve the remaining pieces to top the dish to enhance the presentation.

We save the best pieces from the cooked crab legs to place on top of the dish to make it especially eye catching.

Remove from heat and set aside until ready to serve.

STEP 4 — Assemble the Dish

Place the cooked linguini into a large bowl and toss with the alfredo sauce. Garnish the top with the reserved crab pieces.

Sprinkle some freshly chopped parsley on top.

  • 8 oz Linguini, dried, cook to package directions
  • 1.5 Cups Crab Meat, Cooked, lump crab or remove from cooked crab legs, alternatively use canned crab. Use half or so in the alfredo sauce, reserve rest for topping the dish.

For The Alfredo Sauce

  • 1 Tablespoon Butter, salted or unsalted
  • 1 Tablespoon Flour, all purpose
  • 1 Cup Whole Milk, or Cream
  • 2 oz Cream Cheese, regular Philadelphia cream cheese, room temperature
  • 2 Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese, freshly grated from a block
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, fresh, minced
  • ¼ Teaspoon Italian Seasoning, optional
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt, Himalayan pink salt
  • ¼ Teaspoon Pepper, fresh ground black pepper

For Garnish

  • 1 Tablespoon Parsley, Fresh, chopped


  • Cook linguini on stove top according to package directions. Meanwhile the linguini is cooking, make the alfredo sauce.

For The Crab Alfredo Sauce

  • Melt butter in a small to medium saucepan on the stove top (low to medium heat). When butter is melted, add flour and whisk until smooth (no clumps).

  • Add milk (or cream) and whisk. Increase the heat to medium high and bring the milk mixture to a boil. The milk sauce will thicken and then you can reduce the heat to low again.

  • Next, add the crushed garlic and seasonings (Italian seasoning, if using, as well as salt and pepper). You can also add the parmesan cheese and cream cheese at this point and whisk to a smooth consistency.

  • Toss in half or more of the crab meat, reserve some of the nicest pieces of crab to place on top of the dish when serving. Stir the crab into the sauce. Set aside and keep warm until ready to serve.

Assemble the Crab Alfredo Linguini

  • Place the cooked linguini in a large serving bowl and toss with the alfredo sauce. If you prefer, you can pour the alfredo sauce over the linguini without mixing it much. Arrange the reserved crab pieces on top of the crab alfredo. Sprinkle on some fresh chopped parsley and enjoy!
