Kebab sauce (kebabsås) is an amazingly flavorful, multiuse sauce that is commonly served with doner kebab (kebabkött), in numerous recipes.

Serve kebab sauce alongside kebab roll (kebabrulle), kebab plate (kebabtallrik), kebab salad (kebabsallad), kebab pizza (kebabpizza) and more.

We love to make Instant Pot doner kebab to enjoy in all of the above mentioned recipes.

Plus, it’s super easy to make a large batch of doner kebab white sauce to serve as well.

Doner kebab sauce is perfect on all of these recipes and we love it so much, we have used it as a marinade in these marinated air fryer chicken wings.

As you might expect, the flavorful, spiced kebab sauce does a fantastic job as a marinade for chicken.

Although plain air fryer chicken wings are also delicious, this easy kebab sauce marinade takes these chicken wings over the top!

It’s easy to make, in five minutes or less, you’ll have a kebab sauce marinade ready to go.

And the end result is tender, juicy, savory chicken wings that are absolute perfection with red kebab sauce and garlic sauce on the side.

Ingredients in Marinated Air Fryer Chicken Wings

  • Chicken Wings — Feel free to use split wings or just wings. This recipe also works for chicken drumsticks. Although, you may need to add more time to cook chicken drumsticks (always check with food thermometer inserted into the thickest part of meat to ensure the chicken is cooked to a safe internal temperature of 165°F (74°C)).
  • Marinade — We use our doner kebab sauce recipe to marinate the chicken wings (see below).

Ingredients in Doner Kebab Sauce

  • Dahi — or homemade Instant Pot yogurt. We love the tang of dahi, but you can use any plain yogurt. *You can sub sour cream instead if you prefer.
  • Labneh — or Greek yogurt. We love labneh for it’s texture and flavor similar to cream cheese. You can also make a batch of Instant Pot homemade thick and creamy yogurt and use instead of labneh. *Although you’ll need to plan ahead for this as it takes eight hours. The Instant Pot does most of the work for you and the large batch of homemade yogurt you’ll be able to use all week in recipes, including breakfasts, makes it worth it!
  • Garlic — one clove, minced is a good amount for this recipe. You can add more or less to your preference or omit if you prefer.
  • Hot Sauce — we added in some Frank’s red hot sauce because it is an easy way to add some heat, just a few shakes is all it takes.
  • Hot Sauce — we also happened to have green Tabasco sauce, and since we love it so much, we added a few shakes of it.
  • Italian Seasoning — add in some dry Italian seasoning blend.
  • Doner Kebab Spice Blend (Kebabkrydda) — If you don’t have doner kebab spice, you can sub all purpose spice blend, or you can use taco seasoning.
  • Sweet Chili Sauce — or sambal oelek
  • Himalayan Salt — ground, enhances the flavors in this sauce.
  • Pepper — use fresh ground black pepper or white pepper.
